Energy renovation grants in the Brussels Region 2026

Insulation, solar panels, heat pump: here are all the Brussels grants available in 2026, their amounts and how to combine them.

The Brussels Region overhauled its grant system on January 1, 2026. Here is a clear summary for anyone who wants to renovate without breaking the bank.

The 4 main grants in 2026

1. Renolution grant

The flagship grant for insulation and energy improvement work:

  • Roof insulation: up to €50/m² (capped at €6,000)
  • Exterior wall insulation: up to €80/m²
  • Interior wall insulation: up to €40/m²
  • Double-glazed frames: up to €60/m² of glazing
  • Triple-glazed frames: up to €120/m² of glazing

Adjusted according to household income: 30% boost for modest incomes, 60% for very modest incomes.

2. Solar panel grant

Since 2024, the prosumer tariff has replaced the reversing meter. The Region compensates through:

  • €1,500 flat rate for an installation up to 5 kWp
  • +€200/additional kWp between 5 and 10 kWp
  • Global cap: €2,500

3. Heat pump grant

  • Air-water heat pump: €4,500
  • Geothermal heat pump: €6,000
  • Combinable with the condensing boiler grant for a full system replacement.

4. Energy audit grant

Before any major job, run an audit (~€1,500). The Region refunds €800 upon presentation of the report. It is one of the best cost/benefit ratios: the audit identifies priorities and unlocks the other grants.

How to combine

The golden rule: regional grants stack with each other as long as you do not exceed 80% of the total works cost. You can also combine with:

  • The Brussels 0% green loan (up to €25,000 repayable over 10 years).
  • The federal tax deduction on interest (still active until end of 2027 for certain works).
  • The energy grants from your provider (ENGIE, Luminus, etc.), often an extra ~€200-400.

How to apply

  1. Prior application on the portal primes.bruxellesenvironnement.be
  2. Get the work done by an accredited pro (the list is on the portal, Batizzy does not yet manage this certification but our BCE-verified pros can hold it).
  3. Submit the invoices within 12 months after the end of the works.
  4. Payment: 8 to 12 weeks after a complete file.

Our advice

Run an audit BEFORE signing a quote. You will know exactly which scenario optimises grants and energy savings. On Batizzy, you will find certified energy auditors in the Brussels Region.
